DESMOND-ASHLEY
At All Saints Church., Parramatta,
on February 22, Miss May Ashley,
youngest daughter of Mr. J. Ashley,
of Cowper Street, Harris Park, and the
late Mrs. Ashley, was married, to Mr.
Walter Desmond, eldest son of Mr.
and Mrs.W. Desmond, of Excelsior
Street, Granville. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. G. F. B. Manning.
Bridal preludes were played prior
to the wedding service, and the Wed-
ding March on the arrival of the
bride and at the conclusion of the
ceremony.
The bride, who was given away by
her father, wore a beautiful bridal
gown of ivory satin with a train cut
into the skirt, and a satin halo trim-
med with orange blossom held in
place her bridal veil. She carried a
sheaf of frangipanni and tuberoses.
The bridesmaid was Miss Rita Des-
mond, and Mr. Alf Desmond was best-
man.
After the ceremony, a reception was
held at the home of the bride's father,
about 40 guests being present.
The honeymoon was spent at
Cronulla. Going away, the bride wore
an ensemble of blue georgette and
hat to tone.
